UAE Denies Iranian Claim That Al Minhad Air Base Was Targeted

The United Arab Emirates has denied reports that Iran targeted the Al Minhad Air Base with missiles or drones, saying the claims were false.

The UAE Ministry of Defence said in a statement on Monday that its armed forces remained on a high state of readiness to respond to any threats and protect the country’s sovereignty, security and stability.

Iranian state television had earlier reported that the Iranian army carried out a drone attack against Al Minhad Air Base, claiming that the facility housed U.S. forces and helicopters.

Iran said the reported operation was carried out in response to the killing of members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iranian civilians on Larak Island.

The conflicting claims come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States and growing concerns over the wider regional impact of the conflict.

The UAE’s denial means there is currently no independent confirmation that Al Minhad Air Base was attacked.
