Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, says President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms are enabling states to execute major development projects while paying workers’ salaries and pensions without relying on loans.
Radda made the statement during the Tinubu/Dikko Assured 2027 Islamiyya Teachers’ Empowerment Programme, school inauguration and commissioning of 45 solar-powered streetlights in Katsina.
The governor said his administration had completed projects worth more than ₦30 billion without borrowing, describing the achievement as evidence of responsible leadership and prudent management of resources.
He said the state government was currently able to meet its salary and pension obligations without taking loans, unlike in the past when borrowing was used to pay workers.
Radda specifically praised the Federal Government’s reforms, including local government financial autonomy, saying they had strengthened the ability of states to deliver projects and meet their obligations.
He urged citizens, organisations and philanthropists to support government development efforts and cautioned against misinformation that could undermine genuine progress.
Former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, also commended President Tinubu and Governor Radda, saying political leaders should be judged by their achievements and impact on citizens.
Radda further announced a personal donation of ₦10,000 each to 690 beneficiaries, amounting to ₦6.9 million, which he rounded up to ₦7 million.
