Tinubu Appoints Former Plateau Governor's Son as Senior Special Assistant

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Yakubu Jang, the son of former Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang, as a Senior Special Assistant in the Office of the President.

The announcement was made on Saturday by Vice President Kashim Shettima while delivering President Tinubu's goodwill message at the 80th birthday celebration and book launch of former Governor Jonah Jang in Jos, Plateau State.

Speaking at the event, Shettima said the appointment reflects President Tinubu's recognition of Yakubu Jang's capacity, loyalty, and the importance of including diverse voices in national governance.

The announcement was greeted with applause by guests attending the ceremony, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, state governors, federal and state government officials, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries.

The event also celebrated Jonah Jang's decades of public service, including his career in the Nigerian Air Force, his tenure as Military Administrator, two-term Governor of Plateau State, and Senator.

As part of the celebration, the former governor unveiled his autobiography titled Airman to Politics: My Life, which chronicles his journey in military service and politics.
