Presidency Unveils 108-Member APC Presidential Campaign Council

The Presidency has announced a 108-member Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the January 2027 elections, with President Bola Tinubu serving as chairman.

The list was released on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari has been appointed Director-General of the campaign council, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as secretary.

Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda will serve as vice chairmen.

Other key appointments include Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, who will serve as deputy director-generals for the southern and northern zones.

Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole has been appointed Deputy Director-General in charge of mobilisation, while James Faleke will oversee election planning, coordination and monitoring.

The campaign's media and strategic communication team will be coordinated by Information and National Orientation Minister Mohammed Idris, alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu.

Former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo is also among the members of the campaign council.

The council will have several directorates covering legal affairs, election planning, media, new media, mobilisation and strategic communication.

President Tinubu has directed members of the council to work towards securing victory for the APC in the January 2027 elections.

The Presidency also urged party leaders to involve other APC members who were not included in the initial list, saying their contributions would be important to the campaign.

Onanuga said the administration would campaign on what it described as its achievements and economic progress, urging party members to communicate the government's record to Nigerians.
