The Nigerian Army has rescued 16 kidnapped victims and arrested several suspected terrorist collaborators during coordinated security operations across Borno, Yobe, Sokoto, Zamfara, and Plateau states.
According to the military, the operations, conducted within the last 24 hours, also led to the recovery of 281 rustled livestock, mobile phones, suspected hard drugs, cash, motorcycles, and other items believed to be linked to terrorist activities.
In Borno State, troops intercepted 20 suspected family members of Boko Haram, including women, men, and children, who reportedly fled a terrorist camp following clashes with rival ISWAP fighters. The individuals have been taken into custody for screening.
Security forces also arrested suspected terrorist collaborators in Yobe and Borno for allegedly supplying drugs, food, and other logistics to insurgents. Items recovered included suspected cannabis, several mobile phones, cash, an assault knife, and an ISWAP gate pass.
In another operation, troops rescued a woman who had been held captive by terrorists since November 2025 and reunited her with her family after receiving medical treatment.
In the North-West, troops rescued 14 kidnapped victims during operations in Sokoto State and recovered 281 rustled livestock and two motorcycles after engaging armed terrorists. Additional operations in Sokoto and Zamfara forced fleeing kidnappers to abandon two more victims, one of whom sustained gunshot injuries and was taken to hospital.
Meanwhile, in Plateau State, troops rescued injured farmers attacked by suspected armed herders, recovered 27 cattle from fleeing attackers, and arrested 19 suspects during follow-up operations after two soldiers were killed in an ambush.
The Nigerian Army said the operations are part of its ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, rescue kidnapped victims, and restore security across affected communities.
