The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has commended the financial assistance provided to the families of military and police personnel who died in the line of duty.
Aneke gave the commendation on Thursday at the second edition of the Renewed Hope Initiative’s presentation of financial support to widows of fallen heroes at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The event was attended by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and other senior government, military and security officials.
The Nigerian Air Force disclosed the development in a statement posted on its official social media platforms.
The programme, organised by the Office of the First Lady under the Renewed Hope Initiative Social Investment Programme, was aimed at supporting families of personnel who sacrificed their lives in service to Nigeria.
Aneke said continued assistance to the families of fallen heroes demonstrates the nation’s appreciation for their sacrifices and reflects the government’s commitment to the welfare of those left behind.
The Chief of the Air Staff joined other senior military and security officials at the ceremony, which focused on providing financial relief and support to widows whose husbands died while serving the country.
