Multiple People Killed in Mass Shooting in North Carolina

Authorities in the United States have confirmed that multiple people were killed in a mass shooting in the city of Prospect Hill, North Carolina.

According to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), deputies responding to the scene discovered several victims with gunshot wounds. One injured person was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment, while several others were pronounced dead at the scene.

The SBI said crime scene investigators are currently collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses as the investigation continues.

Officials also assured residents that there is no ongoing threat to the general public at this time.
