The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new online system that allows candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions through the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to verify and upload their O’Level results from home.
The new service initially covers results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). It is designed to reduce candidates’ dependence on Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, especially during periods of heavy demand.
Under the new system, JAMB will electronically verify candidates’ results directly with the relevant examination bodies before uploading them to their JAMB profiles.
According to JAMB, the initiative is intended to make the process faster, safer and more convenient while reducing problems associated with manual uploads, including fraudulent results, misplaced certificates and errors in entering subjects and grades.
How to Verify and Upload Your O’Level Result
Candidates must first obtain a result Verification Code through JAMB’s designated verification portal.
They will be required to provide:
Their National Identification Number (NIN)
Number of O’Level sittings
Examination body or bodies
Email address
GSM/mobile number
After making payment, candidates will enter their examination number, examination series and examination year.
Once the result has been successfully verified, JAMB will issue a Verification Code.
Candidates must then send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.
After verification, the result will be uploaded to the candidate’s JAMB profile, and a notification will be sent confirming the upload.
Candidates with two O’Level sittings should log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.” They can then enter their Verification Code and select the required subjects.
Candidates must select a minimum of five subjects and a maximum of nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once.
JAMB said the new system is expected to reduce queues, unnecessary visits to CBT centres and difficulties caused by network congestion or heavy patronage.
The development represents another step in JAMB’s digital transformation, allowing candidates to complete an important admission process remotely from home.
