Iran Warns Gulf States Against Supporting New US Military Strikes

Iran has warned Gulf countries that any fresh military attack by the United States on its territory would trigger retaliatory strikes against key energy infrastructure and strategic facilities across the Gulf region.

According to Reuters, the warning was delivered through a series of high-level diplomatic contacts after U.S. President Donald Trump recently threatened possible strikes on Iran's energy infrastructure if negotiations fail.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi reportedly held discussions with officials from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and Pakistan, urging regional governments to use their influence to persuade Washington to avoid further military action and return to diplomatic negotiations.

Iranian officials stressed that while Tehran prefers a diplomatic solution, it is prepared to respond forcefully if attacked. They warned that U.S. military bases, oil facilities, electricity networks, refineries, transport systems, and other critical infrastructure in the Gulf could become targets in the event of renewed conflict.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman are said to have encouraged the United States to continue diplomatic engagement with Iran instead of pursuing military action. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reportedly urged President Trump to delay any planned strikes and seek a negotiated settlement.

Saudi officials also made it clear that the kingdom would defend itself if its territory or infrastructure came under attack.

Iran's warning comes amid heightened regional tensions, with Tehran arguing that any escalation could disrupt global energy supplies and destabilize the Gulf. Iranian officials believe the threat of broader regional consequences may encourage Washington and its allies to pursue diplomacy rather than military confrontation.

The latest developments highlight ongoing efforts by regional powers to prevent another major conflict in the Middle East while negotiations between the United States and Iran remain uncertain.
