Fire Engulfs Filling Station in Abuja

A major fire outbreak has engulfed the AYM Shafa filling station in the Area 3 district of Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The blaze reportedly started at about 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and was still raging at the time of reporting. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Firefighters from the Federal Fire Service were immediately deployed to the scene and are working to contain the inferno and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings and facilities.

The National Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service, Paul Abraham, said emergency responders are making every effort to bring the situation under control as quickly and safely as possible.

He urged residents, motorists, and onlookers to stay away from the area, remain calm, and allow emergency personnel to carry out their operations without obstruction. Motorists have also been advised to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion around the affected area.

Authorities say further updates will be provided as more verified information becomes available. No casualties or the extent of property damage had been officially confirmed at the time of this report.
