A Chadian woman wanted by authorities in N’Djamena over the alleged murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh has been arrested in Kano State and repatriated to Chad.
The Nigeria Police Force, through the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, arrested Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, a Chadian national who allegedly fled to Nigeria after the incident.
According to the police, Saleh was tortured and killed on May 3, 2026. Following the incident, the Court of Appeal in N’Djamena issued an international warrant of arrest on June 22, 2026, against Abdoulaye and her alleged accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar.
Police spokesperson CSP Ani Iniedu said Abdoulaye, who is also allegedly linked to narcotics trafficking activities in Chad, was traced to Railway Quarters in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
She was arrested on August 5, 2026, following coordinated intelligence operations by INTERPOL NCB Abuja.
The police said Abdoulaye was successfully repatriated to N’Djamena on August 14 through Lomé, Togo, under established bilateral police cooperation arrangements.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with INTERPOL NCB N’Djamena to enable the suspect to return to Chad and face the judicial process.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended the INTERPOL NCB Abuja operatives for their professionalism, diligence and effective coordination with their Chadian counterparts.
He said the successful arrest and repatriation demonstrated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to ensuring that fugitives cannot evade justice by crossing international borders.
