Canada Lists Eight Companies Eligible to Hire Foreign Workers Through Innovation Work Permit Programme

Canada has identified eight high-growth companies whose eligible foreign hires, including qualified Nigerians and other international professionals, may benefit from Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)-exempt work permits under the country's Innovation Stream.

The programme, part of Canada's Global Hypergrowth Project (GHP), is designed to help innovative Canadian businesses attract highly skilled international talent while supporting their expansion. The Innovation Stream pilot has also been extended and will now remain in place until March 22, 2028.

The participating companies are:

1. Ada Support Inc. – A Toronto-based artificial intelligence company offering roles in engineering, product management, sales, cloud security, and data analysis.

2. AlayaCare – A Montreal health technology company with vacancies in customer success, software development, product management, finance, and AI automation.

3. Clarius Mobile Health – A Vancouver medical technology company developing AI-powered handheld ultrasound devices, with openings in manufacturing and sales.

4. Clio – A Canadian legal technology company recruiting for positions in sales, accounting, customer success, administration, IT, and product management.

5. Lightspeed Commerce – A Montreal-based retail and hospitality technology company hiring for roles in AI, software development, marketing, product design, and management.

6. CellCarta – A life sciences and laboratory services company. At the time of reporting, only internship opportunities were available in Canada.

7. Vive Crop Protection – An agricultural technology company headquartered in Ontario. The company was only advertising job openings in the United States at the time of publication.

8. Duchesnay Pharmaceutical Group – A Quebec-based pharmaceutical company specializing in women's health and rare diseases. No active job vacancies were listed at the time of publication.

The initiative provides a pathway for eligible foreign professionals to work in Canada without requiring a Labour Market Impact Assessment, making the hiring process faster for participating employers and qualified international applicants.
