Borno Woman Celebrates Adopted Daughter's Nursery Graduation Six Years After Giving Her a New Home

A woman from Maiduguri, Borno State, has celebrated a heartwarming milestone as her adopted daughter graduated from nursery school, six years after she welcomed the orphaned child into her family.

The woman, Yakaka Yerima, shared the emotional moment on Facebook, recalling how the little girl lost both parents due to insurgency before she was born. According to her, the child's father was killed in a terrorist attack, while her mother died during childbirth after surviving the same attack.

Yakaka said the baby was taken to an orphanage, but she could not stop thinking about her. After several sleepless nights, she made the life-changing decision to adopt the infant.

At the time, Yakaka already had an 11-month-old baby. She revealed that she breastfed both children together and raised the adopted girl as her own daughter.

Reflecting on the girl's nursery graduation, Yakaka described the occasion as one of the happiest moments of her life.

She prayed for her daughter's continued growth, wisdom, protection, and success, expressing how proud she is of the young girl and thanking God for the journey they have shared together.

The inspiring story has touched many people on social media, with users praising Yakaka's compassion, kindness, and commitment to giving an orphaned child a loving home.
