ASKY Launches Kano–Niamey Flight Service

ASKY Airlines is set to launch a new air service connecting Kano, Nigeria, with Niamey, Niger, beginning September 2, 2026.

The airline said the new route is designed to strengthen the historical, cultural and commercial ties between the two cities while improving regional connectivity.

With Kano becoming the 31st destination on ASKY’s network, the service will operate through the airline’s hub in Lomé, Togo, providing passengers with onward connections to several destinations across West and Central Africa.

The airline noted that Kano has historically served as an important commercial centre and a major link in the trans-Saharan trade routes connecting Nigeria with North African markets, including Morocco and Egypt.

ASKY said the new air link would help boost trade, tourism and regional mobility, reduce travel time between Nigeria and Niger, and further strengthen the longstanding relationship between the two countries.

The service is expected to provide travellers with more convenient access between Kano and Niamey while opening up wider opportunities for business and tourism across the region.
