Abducted Twin Boys Regain Freedom After More Than Two Months in Captivity in Niger State

Six-year-old twin boys, Umar and Anas, who were abducted from the Brighter area of Minna, Niger State, have regained their freedom after spending more than two months in captivity.

The twins were reportedly kidnapped during the Eid al-Adha celebrations in June 2026. According to reports, the family's security guard, identified as Sani Abdulrahman, allegedly took the children away on a motorcycle under the pretext of taking them out to celebrate the festive season while their father was away.

Their father, a businessman simply identified as Danjuma, became alarmed when the children could not be found. He later discovered that the security guard had also disappeared, raising suspicions of his involvement in the abduction.

Sources said the boys were eventually released after a ransom was paid to their captors. However, authorities have not officially disclosed details about how the children were rescued or their current health condition.

An investigation into the incident is expected to continue.
