TikTok influencer Sara Gilson, also known as Sara Duffey, and her estranged husband, Jeremiah "Shawn" Duffey, have been found dead from apparent gunshot wounds in their Oklahoma home in what authorities are investigating as a possible murder-suicide.
Police responded to a domestic emergency call on July 24 and discovered the bodies inside Gilson's residence. While investigators have not officially confirmed the incident as a murder-suicide, local reports say Duffey allegedly broke into the home, fatally shot Gilson before taking his own life.
The tragic incident came just weeks after Gilson posted a viral TikTok video accusing her estranged husband of being a pedophile. She had also obtained a protective order requiring Duffey to remain at least 100 yards away from her.
Court records reportedly show another woman also sought a protective order against Duffey after accusing him of inappropriate conduct involving her 15-year-old daughter, who was on a youth basketball team he coached. The allegations included claims that he sent the teenager inappropriate messages and gave her money to keep quiet. The matter had been reported to local police.
Authorities said the 911 call that alerted officers came from a juvenile who was inside the house at the time of the shooting. Police added that there is no ongoing threat to the public as investigations continue.
Gilson and Duffey reportedly shared children together. The Owasso Police Department has not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
