Remi Tinubu Empowers 800 Kogi Women, Commissions Treasury House, Health Centre

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has empowered more than 800 women in Kogi State while commissioning two key public projects during a one-day working visit to the state.

The projects inaugurated include the newly completed Kogi State Treasury House and a Primary Healthcare Centre located in Lokongoma Phase I, Lokoja.

Speaking during the inauguration, the First Lady described the projects as important investments that would improve public service delivery and enhance the wellbeing of residents. She praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for prioritising healthcare, infrastructure, and other development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the people.

Tinubu stressed that quality healthcare services and efficient public institutions are essential for national development, urging residents to protect and make proper use of the newly commissioned facilities.

At the Government House in Lokoja, she also launched the distribution of empowerment materials and business grants to over 800 women under the Renewed Hope Initiative. According to her, the programme is designed to promote self-reliance, boost household incomes, and create economic opportunities for women and other vulnerable groups.

She encouraged beneficiaries to use the support to expand their businesses, improve their livelihoods, and contribute to the economic growth of their communities.

The First Lady also commended the wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, for her commitment to improving the welfare of women, families, and vulnerable people across the state.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo expressed appreciation for the First Lady's visit and support, reaffirming his administration's commitment to investing in healthcare, infrastructure, and other essential public services. He also assured residents that the newly commissioned facilities would be properly maintained.

The visit concluded with interactions between the First Lady, women's groups, community leaders, and beneficiaries of the empowerment programme, who expressed gratitude for the intervention.
