Police Arrest Two Suspected Accomplices of Kidnappers in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command has arrested two men accused of helping kidnappers abduct three people in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects, identified as Sauni Shehu and Auwalu Bala, were arrested after intelligence-led investigations linked them to the abduction of three victims at Ogele Fulani Camp near Igbaja.

The command's spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, disclosed the development in a statement on Friday, describing the arrests as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle kidnapping networks operating across the state.

According to her, the suspects are being investigated for alleged criminal conspiracy, aiding and abetting kidnapping, and kidnapping.

She added that investigators are using information provided by the suspects to track down other members of the criminal syndicate involved in the crime.

Reacting to the arrests, the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Adekimi Ojo, reaffirmed the command's commitment to intelligence-driven policing and proactive measures to tackle kidnapping and other violent crimes.

He urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies, assuring them that every useful tip would be acted upon to improve public safety and bring criminals to justice.
