More than 100 homes were destroyed after a massive fire tore through a residential neighborhood in Krokstadelva, near the city of Drammen in southern Norway on Friday.
According to local rescue authorities, the blaze spread rapidly due to strong winds, sending thick black smoke into the sky and forcing the evacuation of hundreds of residents.
More than 60 firefighters, supported by helicopters dropping water from the air, battled for hours to contain the flames. The fire also spread into nearby forest areas, making firefighting efforts more difficult.
Authorities confirmed that no deaths, injuries, or missing persons had been reported as of Friday evening despite the extensive damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and officials have not yet determined how the blaze started.
Emergency services continue to monitor the area to prevent further spread while displaced residents receive temporary assistance.
