Israel Adekunle Adeniyi has emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student of the Nigerian Law School for the 2026 Call to Bar, adding another remarkable achievement to an already outstanding academic record.
Adeniyi, who hails from Offa in Kwara State, completed his Bar Part II programme at the Lagos Campus of the Nigerian Law School and was honoured as the institution's top graduating student during the 2026 Call to Bar ceremony.
Before enrolling at the Nigerian Law School, he graduated as the best student in the Common Law programme at the University of Ilorin with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.83, the highest ever recorded by the university's Faculty of Law.
The University of Ilorin Law Students' Society congratulated Adeniyi on the achievement, describing his success as a source of inspiration for aspiring lawyers and students across the country.
In recognition of his exceptional academic excellence, the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation presented Adeniyi with a cash award of ₦2 million. The foundation said its founder, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, hosted the young lawyer at a dinner to celebrate his outstanding accomplishments.
According to the foundation, the award recognises Adeniyi's discipline, dedication, and commitment to academic excellence, noting that he had excelled both at the University of Ilorin and the Nigerian Law School.
Adeniyi's achievement makes him one of Nigeria's most accomplished young legal professionals, having graduated at the top of his class during both his university education and professional legal training.
