Kwara Approves Funds for 2025 TESCOM Promotions

Kwara Approves Funds for 2025 TESCOM Promotions

The Kwara State Government has approved funding for the 2025 promotion exercise for eligible teaching and non-teaching staff under the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).

The approval, granted by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, is aimed at ensuring that qualified workers receive the financial benefits attached to their promotions. The decision was announced in a statement by TESCOM's Press Secretary, Bola Onile.

TESCOM Chairman Bello Abubakar praised the governor for prioritising workers' welfare and supporting the education sector. He noted that the administration inherited unpaid promotion arrears dating from 2015 to 2020 but has since approved both the promotion exercises and the necessary funding covering the period from 2015 to 2025.

Abubakar described Governor AbdulRazaq as the first governor in the state's history to provide full financial backing for promotion exercises over such a period.

He said the commission would immediately begin the administrative process to implement the approved promotions in line with government procedures. He also urged teachers and other staff members to remain committed, disciplined, and professional, assuring them that the government would continue to reward diligence and excellence in service.

The TESCOM chairman expressed confidence that the approval would boost staff morale and improve service delivery across public secondary schools in Kwara State.
