APC, ADC, LP, Six Other Parties Obtain INEC Access Codes for 2027 Candidate Nominations

Nine registered political parties have collected access codes from Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to upload the details of their candidates for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections.

INEC National Commissioner for Voter Education and Publicity, Mohammed Haruna, disclosed this in Abuja, stating that the parties include Accord (A), Action Alliance (AA), African Democratic Congress (ADC), All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), National Democratic Party (NDP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Haruna explained that political parties are responsible for requesting the access codes from INEC, noting that anyone collecting a code must present an authorization letter from the party's leadership.

He urged all participating parties to strictly follow the commission's candidate nomination guidelines and avoid waiting until the submission deadline. According to him, although INEC has extended the online submission deadline to midnight on the final day, parties that delay their submissions do so at their own risk.

Under INEC's timetable for the 2027 general elections, political parties are expected to submit nomination forms for presidential and National Assembly candidates between June 27 and July 11, 2026 through the commission's online nomination portal. Nominations for governorship and State Assembly elections are scheduled to run from July 18 to August 8, 2026.
