Kano Sets September 25 Deadline for 2027 Hajj Deposits, Warns Against Late Payments

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced September 25, 2026, as the final deadline for the payment of Hajj deposits and registration for the 2027 pilgrimage, warning that no intending pilgrim will be considered after the closing date.

The board's Director-General, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim-Matawalle, disclosed this in a statement released on Wednesday through the board's Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi.

According to the statement, the Hajj deposit for the 2027 pilgrimage has been fixed at ₦8 million, and all prospective pilgrims have been urged to complete their payments and registration before the deadline.

Ibrahim-Matawalle stressed that the registration period would not be extended and that no additional Hajj slots would be allocated to anyone who fails to meet the September 25 deadline.

He explained that the deadline would enable the board to make adequate preparations and ensure the smooth coordination of the 2027 Hajj exercise.

The Director-General also reaffirmed the board's commitment to conducting a transparent, well-organized, and hitch-free pilgrimage while urging intending pilgrims to comply with all registration requirements within the stipulated period to avoid missing the opportunity to perform Hajj.
