The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested 19 people, including 12 women and seven men, over alleged involvement in immoral activities at a hotel identified as ICU Hotel in the Nassarawa GRA area of Kano State.
According to the board's Deputy Commander General, Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen, some of those arrested were visitors who had travelled from other states. He also expressed concern over reports that underage youths were allegedly being given rooms at the hotel.
Dr. Aminuddeen said investigations are ongoing to determine the level of involvement of each suspect. He explained that those found guilty would be prosecuted in court, while first-time offenders would receive counselling, after which their parents or guardians would be invited to take them into custody.
The Hisbah Board said it remains committed to enforcing moral standards and ensuring compliance with the laws of Kano State.
