Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has announced Jerry Adams, the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Governor Sani described the nomination as a reflection of his administration's commitment to inclusion, fairness, equity, and good governance.
According to the governor, the decision goes beyond selecting a deputy governorship candidate, saying it reinforces his vision of building a united, peaceful, and inclusive Kaduna State where every citizen feels a sense of belonging.
Sani noted that Kaduna's ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity should be embraced as a source of strength rather than division. He said his administration has focused on equitable development across the state's 23 local government areas, investing in roads, education, healthcare, agriculture, water supply, rural development, and social welfare.
The governor also highlighted improvements in security, stating that many farmers have returned to their farmlands, businesses have expanded, and investor confidence has increased.
Describing Adams as a seasoned public servant and tax administrator, Sani credited him with transforming KADIRS into one of Nigeria's leading revenue agencies through transparency, innovation, and professionalism. He said the agency's improved internally generated revenue has enabled the government to invest more in key sectors.
Governor Sani further praised Adams for his integrity, humility, and commitment to peace and inclusive governance, saying his selection reflects the administration's belief that leadership should be based on merit, competence, and character.
He called on Kaduna residents to support the ticket and urged them to look beyond ethnic, religious, and regional differences as the state prepares for the 2027 governorship election.
