Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, has strongly criticized recent comments by Donald Trump, saying they reinforce Tehran's belief that Washington responds only to strength.
In a post on X on Wednesday, Gharibabadi said Trump's remarks, delivered during a NATO summit in Ankara, reflected the failure of years of U.S. pressure, sanctions, and threats against Iran.
According to the Iranian official, the U.S. strategy has failed to weaken Iran, describing Trump's comments as an indication of frustration rather than strength.
The criticism follows renewed tensions between Iran and the United States after recent exchanges in the Persian Gulf, despite a ceasefire agreement reached last month. Iranian authorities have accused Washington of violating the terms of the agreement, including provisions concerning shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Gharibabadi said Iran would not be intimidated by threats and argued that dealing with the United States requires firmness, claiming Trump responds more to strength than diplomacy.
The latest exchange of rhetoric comes amid heightened regional tensions and growing uncertainty over the future of the ceasefire between the two countries.
