Iran's Army says it has carried out a new wave of drone attacks targeting US military positions in Kuwait, describing the strikes as retaliation for recent American attacks on Iranian territory.
According to a statement released by the Iranian Army on Monday, the operation targeted facilities allegedly used by US forces, including air defense systems, missile installations, shelters and logistical support sites. The military said the action was in response to what it called repeated US aggression against Iran.
Iran said the strikes were conducted separately from operations by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which it claimed also launched attacks against US military assets elsewhere in the region.
The Iranian military accused the United States of carrying out attacks on Iranian military installations, civilian infrastructure and transportation facilities, describing them as violations of international law and the United Nations Charter.
It also alleged that US military operations had targeted transportation networks, fishing vessels, cargo ships and meteorological facilities, while accusing Washington of interfering with Iran's security measures in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran further claimed that the use of military facilities in Gulf countries by US forces had drawn those nations into the ongoing conflict.
The statement reiterated that Iran's Armed Forces remain committed to defending the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, warning that they would continue responding to what they described as acts of aggression.
The reported strikes come amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, although there has been no immediate confirmation from US or Kuwaiti authorities regarding the claimed attacks or the extent of any damage.
