Interpol has issued a Red Notice for 39-year-old Ukrainian national Anastasiia Berezovska, identifying her as the main suspect in a bomb attack that injured three people in Monaco, including Ukrainian-born construction tycoon Vadym Yermolaiev.
Monaco authorities said the explosion occurred on Monday at the entrance of an apartment building and appeared to have specifically targeted the victims. Although officials did not officially identify those injured, media reports said Yermolaiev, his partner and his son were among the victims.
According to investigators, Berezovska is wanted on charges of attempted murder, placing an explosive device in a public place, and criminal conspiracy. Prosecutors said the bomb was remotely detonated, while forensic experts in France are examining the remains of the explosive device.
Investigators initially believed the suspect was a man, but further analysis of CCTV footage and witness testimony revealed that the attacker was a woman disguised in male clothing. Authorities believe the operation was sophisticated and may have involved accomplices.
Police traced the suspect's movements through several European countries after she fled Monaco. Her last known address was in Germany, where police searched a rented apartment and vehicle linked to the investigation. German authorities confirmed that evidence had been seized and handed over to Monaco, but said the suspect remains at large.
Yermolaiev, who renounced his Ukrainian citizenship nearly a decade ago, was sanctioned by Ukraine in 2023 over alleged business ties to Russia. His partner remains in critical condition, while two other bystanders sustained minor injuries.
Monaco's Prince Albert II condemned the attack as "an odious act" and said security services were fully mobilised as the investigation continues. Authorities are also examining whether the bombing was carried out on behalf of other individuals or groups.
