Federal University Wukari Bans Sign-Out Celebrations, Processions On Campus

The management of the Federal University Wukari (FUW) in Taraba State has banned all forms of sign-out celebrations and graduation-related processions on campus and its surrounding areas.

The decision was approved during the university's 76th Senate meeting, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Benjamin Ate Kefas, as part of efforts to improve security, maintain order, and protect lives and property.

Under the new directive, students are prohibited from signing T-shirts or other materials, organizing processions, dancing, spraying money, holding parties, or participating in convoy movements linked to sign-out celebrations within or around the university.

The Senate also outlawed gatherings around the university gates and along the Katsina-Ala–Jalingo Highway, warning that such activities often cause traffic congestion, public disorder, and safety risks.

The university has directed its security personnel to strictly enforce the ban, with any student found violating the directive facing disciplinary action in accordance with the institution's regulations.

The management urged students, parents, guardians, alumni, and the public to support the new policy, stressing that the measure is aimed at ensuring a safe, peaceful, and conducive environment for academic activities.
