Facebook Users Experience Widespread Desktop Access Issues

Facebook Users Experience Widespread Desktop Access Issues

Thousands of Facebook users on Sunday reported problems accessing the platform through its desktop website after receiving an error message stating that their accounts were "temporarily unavailable" due to a site issue.

According to outage-monitoring website Downdetector, reports surged shortly before 9:00 a.m., with many users searching for "Facebook down." The majority of complaints involved website access, followed by login difficulties and issues with the news feed.

Several affected users took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their experiences. While many said the desktop version was inaccessible, others confirmed that the Facebook mobile app continued to function normally.

Users from different countries also reported similar problems on online forums, suggesting the disruption was widespread and primarily affected the web version of the platform.

As of the time of the report, Meta, Facebook's parent company, had not released an official statement explaining the cause of the outage.
