Shettima Travels to Sierra Leone for ECOWAS Leaders' Summit

Nigeria's Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has departed Abuja to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 69th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government taking place in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

According to a statement from the Office of the Vice President, Shettima will join other West African leaders, government officials, and business stakeholders to discuss key regional issues, including peace and security, democratic governance, economic integration, trade, infrastructure development, and sustainable growth.

The summit, being held at the Julius Maada Bio International Conference Centre, is expected to produce strategic resolutions aimed at strengthening cooperation among ECOWAS member states and addressing the region's political, economic, and security challenges.

Vice President Shettima is expected to return to Abuja after concluding his official engagements at the summit.
