Police Rescue Kidnap Victim During Operation In Imo

The Imo State Police Command has rescued a kidnap victim during an intelligence-led operation aimed at clearing criminal hideouts in parts of Owerri West Local Government Area.

The operation, led by the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, CP Audu Bosso, was carried out with the support of local vigilantes around the Nekede, Ihiagwa, and Agbala forest areas.

Police spokesperson Henry Okoye said the operation followed directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, as part of efforts to dismantle criminal camps and improve security across the state.

During the operation, officers rescued an injured kidnap victim identified as Chinonaobi Uchegbulam from Ubaha Orodo, who was found in a forest hideout.

The victim was immediately taken to a medical facility for treatment and is reported to be responding positively.

CP Bosso praised the officers involved for their bravery and professionalism, assuring residents that the command would continue intelligence-driven operations against kidnappers and other criminal groups.

He urged residents to remain alert and report suspicious activities to security agencies, noting that public cooperation remains important in the fight against crime.
