The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it has launched an operation called “Operation Nasr” (“Victory”), claiming it targeted Israel’s Nevatim and Tel Nof airbases in response to earlier Israeli strikes on Iranian radar sites.
In a statement released on Monday, the IRGC’s Aerospace Force said the operation was carried out under the codeword “Ya Haidar Karrar” and dedicated to fighters killed in previous regional conflicts.
According to the statement, the strikes were conducted in response to what Iran described as Israeli missile attacks on several radar installations in different locations inside Iran.
Israeli media reported explosions across several areas following a wave of missile launches, with reports of impacts near Haifa and other parts of northern and central Israel. Sirens were activated in multiple regions as air defense systems were put on alert.
Iranian sources said the missiles used in the operation included a mix of medium- and long-range systems, and claimed the strikes demonstrated the readiness and reach of its missile forces.
The IRGC also warned that any further Israeli attacks would trigger a wider and more intense response, potentially expanding the range of targets.
Israeli authorities have not fully confirmed the extent of the damage but stated that air defenses were activated and emergency protocols were implemented across affected areas.
The exchange comes amid ongoing tensions and repeated cross-border strikes between Iran and Israel, with both sides accusing each other of escalating the conflict.
