Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday that the Strait of Hormuz would not be reopened until a ceasefire in Lebanon is fully respected.
The report, citing a source close to Iran’s negotiating team, said the strategic waterway would also remain closed until arrangements allowing the sale of Iranian oil are approved.
The Strait of Hormuz is a major global oil shipping route, and any disruption there could affect international energy markets.
The development comes amid ongoing regional tensions and diplomatic efforts to address the conflict involving Iran, Israel, and Lebanon.
