A youth-led political movement known as the Cockroach Janta Party has begun an indefinite protest in India’s capital, New Delhi, demanding the resignation of Education Minister .
The protesters, mostly young people, have been camping at Jantar Mantar despite police pressure, saying they will remain until their demands are met.
The movement was started by after growing anger among students over alleged exam paper leaks and problems affecting India’s education system.
The group gained popularity online after Dipke turned a social media joke into a youth campaign. The movement has attracted millions of followers and spread to several Indian cities.
Many students say repeated exam cancellations and alleged irregularities have damaged their trust in competitive examinations and increased frustration among young people.
The protesters accuse the government of failing to address education challenges and insist that the education minister should step down.
Dipke said the protesters will not leave the site, stating that they will continue their demonstration until their demands are addressed.
