Iranian President has said that war serves no one’s interests, but stressed that Iran is prepared to defend itself if conflict continues.
Speaking at the 33rd Monetary and Banking Policy Conference in Tehran, Pezeshkian said prolonged war would not benefit any side, while insisting that Iran’s armed forces and citizens remain ready to protect the country.
He said ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States could bring economic benefits, including the release of billions of dollars in Iranian funds held abroad.
Pezeshkian added that Iran’s position against developing nuclear weapons remains unchanged, but the country will continue to defend its right to uranium enrichment.
He also criticized opponents of the talks, saying some regional and foreign groups were against diplomatic progress and economic recovery.
The Iranian president called on experts to find solutions to reduce inflation and strengthen the country’s economy.
