Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, appeared before two separate courts in Kaduna over allegations of financial misconduct, abuse of office, and money laundering.
The charges were filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
At the Federal High Court in Kaduna, El-Rufai was arraigned alongside his former Special Adviser, Jimi Lawal, and five companies on an amended 11-count charge.
During the court session, El-Rufai pleaded not guilty to the first count, while Lawal pleaded not guilty to three counts brought against him.
One of the companies, Singularity Network Security Limited, was also charged on several counts.
Defence lawyers informed the court that bail applications had been submitted for their clients and requested approval.
After listening to arguments from both sides, Justice Hauwa’u Buhari adjourned the ruling on the bail applications until July 1, 2026.
Shortly after the Federal High Court proceedings, the former governor appeared before the Kaduna State High Court for a separate case involving alleged abuse of office and money laundering.
The state high court adjourned the matter until June 29, 2026, for continuation of hearing.
