Boko Haram/ISWAP Militants Burn Schools in Borno State

Suspected terrorists from Boko Haram/ISWAP have reportedly set fire to a primary and secondary school in Kautikari village, located in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to security sources, the attackers invaded the community around 7 p.m. on Saturday, forcing residents to flee into nearby bushes for safety. No casualties have been confirmed so far.

A resident described the attack as unusual, noting that while the village has experienced repeated assaults in the past, schools and other properties were previously spared from destruction.

The incident comes shortly after the abduction of pupils from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira-Uba, who were reportedly held for nearly a month without being found.

Authorities, including police spokesperson ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, were not reachable for comment at the time of reporting.

The attack has heightened fears in the region, which continues to suffer repeated violence linked to insurgent activities by Boko Haram and its splinter faction ISWAP.
