Three members of the same family, including a six-month-old baby, were killed after an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential apartment in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza early Sunday, according to local medical officials.
Doctors at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah confirmed the victims as Mohammad Abu Mallouh, his wife Alaa Zaqlan, and their infant son, Osama. Around 10 other people were reportedly injured in the attack.
The Israeli military had not released an immediate statement regarding the incident at the time of reporting.
The strike comes amid continuing violence in Gaza despite a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States last year. Gaza health authorities say hundreds of Palestinians have been killed in ongoing attacks since the truce began in October.
Residents and witnesses reported renewed Israeli bombardment across several areas of Gaza on Sunday, including Deir el-Balah, where air raids caused heavy destruction near civilian infrastructure and medical facilities.
According to local officials, Israeli forces have also continued demolishing homes and infrastructure in areas designated as military buffer zones inside Gaza.
Earlier this month, Gaza’s Government Media Office accused Israel of committing thousands of ceasefire violations, including air raids and shootings targeting civilians.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains severe, with aid access and healthcare services under growing pressure as negotiations between Israel and Hamas remain stalled.
