IRGC Says US Faces Stark Choice Between Escalation and Compromise With Iran

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has stated that the United States must choose between what it described as an “unfeasible military confrontation” and an unfavorable agreement with Iran, amid ongoing tensions between the two countries.

In a statement released on Sunday, the IRGC’s intelligence wing said recent developments have significantly limited Washington’s options. The remarks followed Iran’s submission of a comprehensive proposal aimed at ending the conflict involving the US and Israel.

According to the IRGC, the situation now leaves Donald Trump with a narrowing set of choices, as geopolitical pressures mount. The statement also pointed to shifting positions among global powers, including China, Russia, and European countries, as influencing the current dynamics.

The tensions stem from a conflict that began in late February, when US and Israeli forces reportedly carried out airstrikes targeting Iranian officials and military personnel. Iran responded with multiple waves of retaliatory strikes across the region, escalating the confrontation.

The IRGC also referenced developments in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran has imposed restrictions affecting certain oil and gas shipments, citing security concerns.

A temporary ceasefire brokered in April has so far failed to produce a lasting agreement, with both sides accusing each other of imposing conditions that hinder further negotiations. While the US extended the truce, Iran has expressed reluctance to resume talks, pointing to ongoing disputes over demands and maritime restrictions.
