Iran says it is reviewing a fresh proposal from the United States as indirect negotiations continue through Pakistani mediators aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East.
According to Iran’s state-linked Nour News Agency, Tehran and Washington have exchanged several messages in recent days as diplomatic efforts intensify.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that discussions are being conducted according to “Iran’s original 14-point framework.”
“We have received the American side’s views and they are currently under review,” Baghaei said on Wednesday.
The development came during a visit to Tehran by Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsen Naqvi, highlighting Islamabad’s growing role as a mediator between the two countries.
Pakistan has reportedly been facilitating backchannel communication focused on a possible ceasefire agreement and wider regional security arrangements.
The renewed diplomatic activity follows weeks of rising tensions involving the United States, Iran, and Israel, prompting international calls for restraint and a negotiated settlement.
Officials in Islamabad believe continued dialogue could help prevent further escalation and open the door to broader regional stability.
