Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has pledged that Iran will overcome its adversaries not only on the battlefield but also in the economic and cultural spheres.
In a message marking Teachers’ Day and International Workers' Day, the Iranian leader said the country must build on what he described as military achievements by advancing in other key areas of national development.
He stated that after decades of resistance, Iran has demonstrated significant military capability and should now focus on what he called “economic and cultural struggle” to counter its opponents.
Khamenei emphasized the critical roles of teachers and workers, describing them as central to success in these domains. According to him, educators are vital in shaping cultural identity and guiding future generations, while workers form the backbone of economic progress.
He noted that national advancement depends on “knowledge and labor,” urging stronger practical support for both groups rather than symbolic praise.
The leader also called for closer cooperation between families and schools, alongside greater public support for domestically produced goods to strengthen local industries.
Addressing employers, he encouraged business owners—especially those facing difficulties—to avoid laying off workers and instead view them as valuable assets, adding that government backing should support such efforts.
Teachers' Day in Iran coincides with the anniversary of the death of Ayatollah Morteza Mutahhari, while Workers’ Day is observed globally on May 1.
Khamenei expressed optimism that by reinforcing national identity and supporting local production, Iran would continue progressing toward greater development and self-reliance.
