Hamas Military Wing Confirms Death of Senior Commander in Gaza City Airstrike.

The armed wing of Hamas, the Ezzedine Qassam Brigades, has confirmed that one of its senior commanders, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City.

In a statement released on Saturday, the group said al-Haddad was killed in what it described as a “cowardly” air attack carried out the previous night. It said the strike also resulted in the deaths of his wife and daughter, along with other unidentified individuals.

The Qassam Brigades condemned the attack as a violation of the ongoing ceasefire agreement signed in Sharm el-Sheikh, claiming that Israeli operations have continued despite the truce.

Earlier reports and Palestinian officials have repeatedly accused Israel of carrying out military actions in Gaza despite the ceasefire, leading to ongoing casualties and worsening humanitarian conditions in the territory.

According to Palestinian health authorities cited in local reports, hundreds of people have been killed and thousands injured since the ceasefire began, while living conditions in Gaza remain severe due to widespread destruction and displacement.

The Israeli side has not issued an immediate public response regarding the specific claim of the commander’s death.
