The Nigerian Army has killed 18 suspected terrorists during coordinated operations in Borno State as part of ongoing counterinsurgency efforts in the North-East.
The operation, conducted under Operation Hadin Kai, targeted insurgent strongholds in the Bulabulin Forest and the Timbuktu axis. According to military sources, 11 fighters were eliminated in Bulabulin, while 7 others were killed in the Timbuktu area after troops engaged them in a fierce gun battle.
Supported by air power, ground forces successfully overran several hideouts, forcing surviving militants to retreat with injuries. The military said the mission was carefully executed to weaken terrorist presence and disrupt their activities in the region.
During the operation, troops recovered a cache of weapons and equipment, including rifles, rocket-propelled grenade launchers, ammunition, and communication devices.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining operations against insurgent groups and restoring lasting peace in the North-East, where groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP have remained active.
