Tinubu Mourns Death of Emir of Zurmi, Bello Sulaiman

President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the death of the Emir of Zurmi, Sarkin Zamfaran Zurmi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Bello Sulaiman.

The traditional ruler died on Monday, about five years after ascending the throne.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu extended his condolences to the late emir’s family, the Zurmi Emirate Council, the Zamfara State Government, the people of the state and the traditional institution across Nigeria.

The President described Emir Sulaiman as a respected monarch who led his people with wisdom, dignity and dedication during a challenging period.

Tinubu said the late emir demonstrated courage and leadership in addressing security challenges in the Zurmi Emirate while promoting peace, unity and resilience among the people.

The President described him as a stabilising figure whose counsel and commitment to peace-building were valuable to Zurmi Emirate, Zamfara State and efforts to restore lasting peace in the North-West.

Tinubu prayed that Almighty Allah would forgive the late monarch’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.

He also prayed for strength and comfort for the deceased’s family, the emirate and everyone mourning his death.
