Microsoft has begun gradually restoring its Outlook email service and other Microsoft 365 business services following a major outage that affected users on Monday.
The company said it was deploying measures to resolve the disruption affecting Outlook, Exchange Online and other Microsoft 365 services.
Microsoft 365's official status account said users should begin experiencing a gradual recovery in email delivery as the company works to restore normal operations.
Microsoft also said it was restarting targeted sections of the affected infrastructure to help restore services that depend on the disrupted systems.
However, some customers remained frustrated by the lack of a clear timeline for a complete recovery. Several users on social media asked Microsoft when they could expect all services to return to normal.
Some users reported that their emails had started arriving, although they were coming through slowly.
The outage began early Monday, with thousands of Microsoft users reporting difficulties accessing Outlook. Some customers also experienced problems with Microsoft 365 applications, account logins and Exchange Online, Microsoft's cloud-based service for email, calendars, contacts and tasks.
Microsoft's latest update indicates that service restoration is underway, although a full resolution had not yet been confirmed as of Monday evening.
The situation remains developing as Microsoft continues efforts to restore normal email and Microsoft 365 services.
