Eight Feared Trapped as Two-Storey Building Collapses in Kwara.

At least eight people are feared trapped after a two-storey building collapsed in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, in the early hours of Tuesday.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 5:30 a.m. in the PopoGiwa/Madalasi Zhogoro area, off Sijikobi Road, in Ilorin West Local Government Area.

Sources said some of those believed to be trapped include nursing mothers and children.

Rescue operations are currently underway at the scene, with personnel from the Kwara State Fire Service, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and local residents working to locate and rescue those trapped beneath the rubble.

Further details on the cause of the collapse and the number of casualties are yet to be confirmed.
