Tinubu Appoints Gbajabiamila to APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council

Tinubu Appoints Gbajabiamila to APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, as Deputy Director-General, Administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).

Gbajabiamila, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, is one of Tinubu’s close political allies and brings extensive legislative and political experience to the campaign team.

He served in the House of Representatives for 20 years, from June 2003 until his resignation in June 2023.

The appointment comes as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 presidential election. Political parties are also putting campaign structures in place as candidates prepare for what is expected to be a highly competitive election.

Ndume Opposes Tinubu Chairing Campaign Council

Meanwhile, Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, has said President Tinubu should not chair the APC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Ndume questioned the structure of the campaign council and argued that Tinubu, as the party’s presidential candidate, should not be responsible for campaigning for himself.

According to Ndume, the APC as a political party should take responsibility for promoting its candidate and selling his achievements to voters.

He also said the president should concentrate on his responsibilities as the leader of the party rather than chairing the campaign council.

More Appointments Expected

The development follows the appointment of Ade Omole as Deputy Director, Diaspora Mobilisation I, of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

Omole, an ICT executive, legal professional and public affairs strategist, is known for his involvement in Nigerian diaspora affairs.

The latest appointments indicate that the APC is gradually assembling its campaign machinery ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
