Police Nab Six Over Alleged Harassment of Motorists in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested six suspects following a viral video showing alleged miscreants harassing motorists on the road.

The police spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement shared on her X account on Thursday while reacting to the video, which showed some men allegedly attempting to damage a vehicle’s side mirror.

Adebisi said the command had already been monitoring the activities of the suspects and had taken proactive measures to curb such incidents before the video emerged online.

She said six suspects were arrested on the same road following the incident captured in the video, adding that investigations were ongoing.

According to the police spokesperson, officers have also been strategically deployed to intensify surveillance and prevent similar incidents from occurring again.

She thanked members of the public for drawing the police’s attention to the incident and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information that could help maintain security across Lagos.

Adebisi reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting motorists and other residents from criminal activities throughout the state.
