Ooni Donates ₦100 Million, Hilux Vehicle to Strengthen Community Security Network.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has donated ₦100 million and a brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicle to support the operations of the Iru Ekun Security Network, a community-based security outfit founded by Yoruba Nation advocate, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

The donation was announced during a courtesy visit by Igboho and members of the security outfit to the Ooni's Palace in Ile-Ife.

According to a statement released by the palace, the monarch praised Sunday Igboho for his commitment to protecting lives and promoting peace across Yorubaland. He stressed that security is a shared responsibility and called on traditional rulers, community leaders, business owners, and other stakeholders to support initiatives aimed at improving community safety.

The Ooni said every genuine effort to safeguard lives and maintain peace deserves encouragement, adding that unity among the Yoruba people remains essential for lasting security and development.

In his response, Sunday Igboho expressed gratitude for the monarch's generous support, describing the Ooni as a father figure to Yoruba people around the world. He noted that the visit was also an opportunity to brief the monarch on the activities of the Iru Ekun Security Network and seek his continued guidance.

Igboho further disclosed that plans are underway to organize a regional security summit involving traditional rulers from across Yorubaland. The proposed meeting, subject to the Ooni's approval, is expected to take place at the Ooni's Palace in Ile-Ife to discuss practical solutions to the region's security challenges.
